


The land-based sector is hugely important to our economic and national life, contributing an estimated £46 billion per annum to the economy.
Around a million people are employed in the sector which also has 500,000 volunteer workers. This sector covers a range of areas including agriculture and science, fresh produce, nurseries and garden centres, gardens, landscape and design and rural management and the environment. Animal related areas including veterinary and equine specialisms remain popular with qualified professionals always in demand.
