Agriculture and Land Based Industries

The land-based sector is hugely important to our economic and national life, contributing an estimated £46 billion per annum to the economy.

Around a million people are employed in the sector which also has 500,000 volunteer workers. This sector covers a range of areas including agriculture and science, fresh produce, nurseries and garden centres, gardens, landscape and design and rural management and the environment. Animal related areas including veterinary and equine specialisms remain popular with qualified professionals always in demand.

Easton College offers a range of new Foundation Degrees in these areas, or you could opt for a full degree programme in Development Studies at UEA which includes elements of agriculture. If you live in the West Norfolk area the College of West Anglia offers some exciting land-based studies options from its Wisbech and Milton centres.
