We all have our own reasons for wanting to get an HE qualification - but here's a few more you may not have considered.
1.Better career prospects - unemployment amongst
graduates is around half that of non-graduates.
2.Money - graduates earn more than non-graduates
- in fact, on average, their salaries are around
50% higher.
3.Personal development - there's huge satisfaction in
developing an in-depth knowledge of a subject
you're really interested in.
4.Well-being - believe it or not, a recent study has
shown that not only do graduates have better jobs
and higher pay, but are less depressed, healthier,
hold more tolerant attitudes towards other races,
and are more likely to vote in elections and read to
their children!
5.It's fun - you'll get to meet new people from a
wide variety of backgrounds and are sure to make
new friends.
6.New experiences - there'll be opportunities to get
involved in all sorts of activities, sports and groups -
as much as you want to, or can fit it in with your
other commitments.
7.Confidence - higher education boosts confidence
and independence - qualities admired by
employers.
