University of East Anglia
Built on 320 acres of beautiful parkland, UEA has an international
reputation for top quality teaching and research in a wide range of
subject areas. Our flexible approach means that, after a broad
introduction to your chosen subject, you can either specialise or
choose options to suit your own needs and interests.
At UEA we welcome students of
all ages and backgrounds and
operate a flexible admissions
policy, which takes into account
your life and work experiences.
We welcome applications from
mature students - in fact about
15 per cent of our full-time
undergraduates are over 21
when they begin their studies. So
we are well able to cater for
your needs, which may be
different from those of school leavers.
Mature applicants are sometimes
advised to undertake further
study before beginning their
degree. Call our Admissions
Office on 01603 591515 for
more information.
Part-time degree study
UEA offers part-time degree programmes in an increasing number of
subject areas, offering a more flexible approach to learning. This means
you can complete your studies over a longer period of time, typically
5-7 years. Your application for a part-time degree should be made
directly to the School of Study and not through the UCAS system - call
the Learning Shop or see our website www.uea.ac.uk for contact details.

Student life is not just about study and UEA provides plenty of
entertainment and leisure activities. There are more than 100 student
clubs and societies and a busy calendar of events to suit all interests.
UEA's Sportspark is the country's biggest university sports complex
and includes an Olympic-sized swimming pool and international
standard facilities for many sports.
UEA is named one of the
UK's top three universities
for student satisfaction.
The first ever National Student
Survey has shown that levels of
satisfaction with the courses
taught at UEA are among the
highest in the country.
Only two mainstream universities
ranked higher than UEA for
overall satisfaction and only
three were thought by their
students to have better
learning resources.
This is the first time that students
have been asked for their views
about the sector in this way and
they gave a ringing endorsement
of the quality of UEA's staff,
teaching and student support.
The survey was undertaken in
January 2005 by undergraduate
final year students across
England, Wales and Northern
Ireland. Students rated their
courses in seven areas:
- overall satisfaction
- teaching
- assessment and feedback
- academic support
- organisation and management
- learning resources
- personal development
